Renewable Energy

There’s a reason that more than 5 out of every 50 homes on a street today have solar energy panels installed on their rooftop: it makes sound financial sense. The typical system payoff is 5 years, and the average annual return on investment can be upwards of 6-10%, with a system lifetime return of 300% or more.

And while for a variety of reasons not every home is suitably adapted for solar (most often due to incompatible rooftop and sunlight orientation or overhanging trees), our vision is to accelerate the adoption of solar energy for the 90% of homes that can accommodate it, for the homeowners and environment that will benefit most from it.

With npre, every time a person moves into a new home, that home becomes equipped with renewable energy. This alleviates environmental pollution, and eliminates the typical monthly utility expense for the homeowner, which in turn can aid homeowners with meeting their monthly mortgage payments or other important expenses.

For standalone solar energy system installations, for individuals who are interested in renewable energy but who do not plan to move within the next 5 years, npre provides a significant price reduction on the cost of the system install.

We work with solar installers who provide reduced cost systems directly to the non-profit, or in cases where we do not have a relationship with the installer (typically out-of-state installs), homeowners can apply for a grant directly through npre.

We provide in-depth consultation services to make sure solar is a good fit for your home, and we’re happy to answer any questions you have about solar in our capacity as a public benefit organization and neutral intermediary, which removes the sales pressures and tactics that too often sway homeowners away from the independent merits of whether solar makes sense for their long-term goals.
